- Demand signal is the headline: organic orders grew 27% y/y and backlog reached a record $21.0B (+32% organic) — data-center thermal management and mission-critical building systems are driving a multi-quarter runway.
- Americas carried the quarter: sales +11% to $4.5B with segment EBIT up 30% and margin up 260 bp to 18.8% on operating leverage; APAC +15%; EMEA was the laggard at −1%.
- SG&A was held flat (−0.7%) against 9% revenue growth — the new proprietary business system under CEO Joakim Weidemanis is showing in productivity.
- Pretax income jumped 30% but net income from continuing operations rose 21%: the effective tax rate normalized to 18.0% from an unusually low 12.3% a year ago.
- Total net income looks nearly flat y/y ($752M vs $778M) only because the prior-year quarter included $160M from discontinued operations (the divested Residential & Light Commercial business).
- Products & systems revenue grew 11.5% vs services +4.6% — the equipment cycle is leading, services follow with the installed base.
- Restructuring and impairment costs rose to $80M (from $51M) on transformation programs — excluded from the $1.42 adjusted EPS.
