- Reported diluted EPS ($1.37) fell 2.8% while adjusted diluted EPS ($1.48) rose 2.8% — gap driven by $88M asset impairment/exit costs (USSTC facilities consolidation), $95M litigation charges, and $77M ABI-related special losses excluded from adjusted results.
- Oral tobacco OCI fell 23.5% reported (-8.0% adjusted) largely due to $79M of USSTC facility consolidation charges plus lower shipment volume and higher promotions.
- Smokeable products OCI grew only 0.4% reported despite 3.2% volume decline, cushioned by pricing and import/export duty refunds; adjusted OCI margin rose to 64.8%.
- 'All Other' segment operating loss narrowed to -$77M from -$108M, helped by absence of 2025 NJOY/acquisition-related charges, though 2025 also benefited from an $8M revenue reclass.
- Equity income from ABI/Cronos investments ($87M) was a smaller tailwind than Q2 2025's $148M, contributing to below-the-line pressure on pretax earnings.
- Effective tax rate rose to 21.5% reported (down 2.2pp actually, prior year 23.7%) aided by a $42M favorable income tax item from resolved prior-year audits.
