- Divisions: Ratings $1,339M (+17%), Indices $534M (+20%), Market Intelligence $1,290M (+6%), Energy $568M (+2%), Mobility $468M (+7%), minus $53M intersegment elimination.
- This quarter still includes Mobility; excluding it (pro forma), revenue was $3.678B (+11%), operating profit $1.757B (+21%) and diluted EPS $4.08 (+26%). From Q3 Mobility is reported as discontinued operations.
- Operating margin 43.7% vs 41.3%: division expenses rose 6% against 10% revenue growth; Ratings expenses actually fell 2%. Corporate unallocated expense jumped 31% to $104M around the spin-off.
- Minority interest of $106M (+20%) is mostly the partner's share of S&P Dow Jones Indices — it grows with the Indices business, which is why net income to S&P Global (+14%) lags pre-tax income (+15%).
- Diluted shares fell to 295.5M from 306.1M a year ago (−3.5%): that turns 14% net-income growth into 18% EPS growth.
- Interest expense, net +13% to $87M; adjusted (non-GAAP) EPS $4.83 (+23%) excludes ≈$2 per share a year of deal-related amortization.
